Metin Tabalu - Founder & Partner
Metin has got his bachelors degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Sabanci University, and masters in Operations Management from the Middle East Technical University (METU), he also got Masters in Management degree at Stanford University Graduate School of Business with an Alfred Sloan Scholarship.
He managed the FP&A department for $10 bn. flag-carrier Turkish Airlines, which is one of top-5 on the World in network coverage, where he launched the executive reporting suite offering real-time analysis the top management. Within Turkish Airlines group, he also held responsibilities on the Technical Maintenance division by initiating ACE/Continuous Improvement for a $180 m Greenfield Engine Center JV with Pratt & Whitney (the second-largest engine manufacturer on the World).
He has led the strategy, R&D and communications functions of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), an organization having 65,000 active exporter members across 26 sectors. at TIM, he launched the first countrywide innovation development program of Turkey with AT Kearney to leveraging their IMP3rove Academy of the EU.
He also launched and lead the Digital Transformation team for one of the top aerospace manufacturers of EMEA region. Previously, he also worked as a Senior Associate at the Corporate Strategy and Planning Department of Sabanci Holding, a $15 Bn conglomerate having quite diversified operations.
Serhan Uslubas - Advisory Board Member
Serhan graduated from Robert College in Istanbul and has completed his Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering at Bosphorus University. He then had his first Masters degree in Electronics Engineering and Computer Science at Northwestern University. He also has an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
Serhan began his career as a Technical Business Developer at Texas Instruments. He then moved to Apple Computer where he first worked as a Senior Software Engineer focusing on the camera operation algorithms, and designed numerous algorithms and features (spanning thousands lines of code), which are implemented in 500M+ shipped units of iPhone and iPad. He then has been promoted to a Manager and Product Owner role to manage Apple’s Advanced Digital Imaging team with many direct reports. He also served as an advisor in Atomic Venture Capital, as well as being co-founder and board advisor in various successful tech startups in Silicon Valley. Serhan currently leads the analytics and image recognition data science teams at ByteDance Ltd (TikTok).
Serhan holds 5 United States Patents in image/video processing and camera technology. He is an avid landscape photographer and enjoys traveling and winter sports.
Ahmet Zeren - Partner, Senior Advisor
Ahmet graduated from Robert College and then got his Undergraduate degree in Mechatronics Engineering with High Honors from Sabanci University. He then had his Masters degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
He worked as an Asset Management Dealer at TSKB - Industrial Development Bank of Turkey and as a Senior Dealer for Structured Products at the Derivatives Desk, Bonds and Bills Desk and FX and Money Markets Desk at the Treasury Department of Yapi Kredi Bank. He most recently had advisory roles for Venture Capital initiatives as a Coordinator of United Global Funding.
Ahmet holds an Advanced Level Certificate and Derivatives License as a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB). Ahmet is an expert in structuring and trading cross asset structured products and derivatives, he also has a broad experience in structured long-term borrowing transactions, Asset Backed Swaps, Mortgage Backed Loans, Asset-Liquidity Management, Credit Ratings and financial services process mapping.
Kadir Kuğu - Partner, Senior Advisor
Kadir completed his undergraduate studies in Computer Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University and in Computer Science at Roskilde University in Denmark. His academic work focused on Artificial Intelligence, Image Processing, and Biometric Systems.
He spent many years as a software engineer in these fields, later establishing and leading product management departments in each company he joined. He managed products from concept to market success—many of which are still used today across sectors like defense, security, finance, tourism, smart cities, gaming, and cybersecurity.
In 2020, Kadir founded PIAPEX, Turkey’s first brand focused solely on product management services. Through PIAPEX, he supports startups and companies of all sizes in areas such as strategy, market analysis, product development, growth, and investment readiness.
He is also active in the startup ecosystem as a mentor, professional coach, and angel investor, collaborating with various accelerator programs and investor networks.
Ergi Sener - Partner, Senior Advisor
Ergi Sener, who is indicated as one of the 20 Turkish people to be followed in the field of technology, is a serial entrepreneur and CEO of Nomu Pay Turkey. He is also a lecturer for Sabanci University and Bahçeceshir University School of Business and technology editor of hurriyet.com.tr. He also serves as the Advisory Board Member at the of Sabanci MBA Program, Çekmeköy Municipality CreaCenters and in the
board of Sodimer.
He received a BS in Microelectronics Engineering in 2005 and double MS in Telecommunications & Management in 2007 from Sabanci University. He is pursuing a PHD degree in Marketing.
Ergi began his career as the co-founder and business development director of New Tone Technology Solutions in 2007 with the partnership of Sabanci University's Venture Program. Between 2009 and 2013, he
worked for Garanti Payment Systems, Turkcell and MasterCard.
Among with many other awards, Ergi received "Retail Innovation Award" in 2018 and 2019, ""Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award" in 2014, "MasterCard Europe President's Award for
Innovation" in 2013, "Payment System of the Year Award" by Payment Systems Magazine in 2012 and "Best Mobile Transaction Solution Award" by SIMagine in 2011." Ergi has been supporting many start-ups as a mentor and angel investor, and also received the best technology editor award by university students of 182 universities.
